Overview
We are a well-established Ontario property management company seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Property Accountant to join our growing team. This position is ideal for an accounting professional who enjoys managing the full accounting cycle and working in a rapid-paced property management environment.
Key Responsibilities
Perform full-cycle accounting for a portfolio of Condominium and Commercial properties.
Process and post Accounts Receivable payments, including cheque and electronic payments.
Process and post Accounts Payable invoices.
Prepare and issue cheques and electronic payments to vendors.
Reconcile bank accounts and general ledger accounts.
Prepare monthly and year-end journal entries.
Produce complete monthly financial statement packages and working papers for Condominium Corporations and Commercial properties.
Assist with annual audits and year-end working papers.
Maintain accurate accounting records and supporting documentation.
Respond to inquiries from property managers, board members, vendors, and clients.
Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting standards,
and applicable legislation.
Perform other accounting and administrative duties as required.
Qualifications
Post-secondary education in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Minimum 2–5 years of full-cycle accounting experience , preferably in the property management industry.
Experience with condominium and commercial property accounting is considered an asset.
Solid understanding of Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, bank reconciliations, journal entries, and financial statement preparation.
Proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail.
Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
