We're looking for an experienced Human Resources professional to lead the HR function for two companies with approximately 120 salaried and hourly employees operating in the construction and real estate industries.

This is a senior, hands-on role reporting directly to the CEO. The successful candidate will be a practical, independent HR leader who enjoys solving problems, understands HR risk management, and has a robust working knowledge of Alberta employment legislation.

Key Responsibilities

• Full-cycle payroll (semi-monthly) using BambooHR

• Administration of Sun Life employee perks

• HR support for approximately 120 salaried and hourly employees

• Ensure compliance with Alberta employment legislation

• WCB claims administration and annual reporting

• Immigration and work authorization compliance

• Employee onboarding and orientation

• Deliver employee training, including office safety orientation

• Support recruitment activities as required (not a primary focus)

• HR policy administration and employee relations

• Office administration, including workspace coordination and company asset management (computers, equipment, etc.)

Qualifications





• Minimum 5 years of progressive HR experience in a senior HR role

• Strong knowledge of Alberta employment legislation

• Experience managing full-cycle payroll and employee benefits

• Experience with WCB claims administration and reporting

• Practical, risk-conscious approach to HR

• Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills

• Construction and/or real estate industry experience is an asset

• Experience with BambooHR and SiteDocs is considered an asset

• CPHR designation is preferred; however, equivalent experience with demonstrated expertise in employment legislation will also be considered
