Join Nova Scotia Health as a Full time Cardiac Sonographer in Halifax, specializing in advanced echocardiography techniques. Provide accurate cardiac assessments and collaborate closely with an Echocardiologist.
This permanent position at Nova Scotia Health requires proficiency in using sophisticated ultrasound technology for detailed cardiac function evaluations. The Cardiac Sonographer will be responsible for diagnostic recordings and maintaining patient files, ensuring skilled patient care, and discussing findings with the Echocardiologist. Ideal candidates should possess a comprehensive knowledge of echocardiograms, as well as experience in adult congenital heart disease techniques.
Key Responsibilities:
• Obtain diagnostic cardiac ultrasound images and doppler data
• Prepare detailed summaries of findings for review




• Discuss exams effectively with the Echocardiologist
• Maintain accurate patient files and records
• Assist during specialized echo procedures and studies
Requirements:
• Graduate from an accredited Diagnostic Medical Ultrasound program
• NSCMIRTP licensure and current BLS certification
• Minimum one year of clinical experience preferred
• Experience with Philips and General Electric systems an asset
• Proficiency in French is preferred
