Become an integral part of WSP’s environmental team as an Environmental Field Technician for a major oil sands project in Northern Alberta, with fly-in/fly-out operations beginning in late 2026. Your role will significantly impact environmental practices in resource development.
As part of WSP’s long-term project, you will engage in geotechnical field programs and foster a strong safety culture. Your skills in soil sampling and drilling will be essential for collecting and managing field data integral to the project’s success. You’ll collaborate closely with clients and engineers to resolve issues on-site.
Key Responsibilities:
• Advocate for safety culture and compliance with WSP’s policies
• Perform geotechnical investigations and environmental assessments
• Collect and log accurate environmental data in the field
• Aid in laboratory tests that inform project design
• Maintain professional representation of WSP on-site
Requirements:
• Education in Environmental Sciences or Engineering
• Practical experience with field investigations and sampling
• Solid organizational abilities and independence
• Effective communication skills in English
• Valid Alberta driver’s licence required
