Embark on a career as a Certified Power Cable Apprentice with Toronto Hydro. This position involves hands-on work in maintaining and troubleshooting underground electrical systems, ensuring protected and effective operations.
As a Certified Power Cable Apprentice, you will work under the supervision of a Certified Power Cable Person. This role requires proficiency with various voltage types while performing essential tasks such as splicing and terminating conductors. You will engage in maintenance, troubleshooting, and installation of underground powerlines and various electrical equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
• Demonstrate protected work practices and adhere to safety regulations
• Install and maintain conductors and control wiring
• Troubleshoot underground distribution systems




• Communicate effectively with customers and team members
• Operate tools and equipment safely and efficiently
Requirements:
• Two-year college diploma or Electrical Techniques Certificate preferred
• Valid Class G Ontario Driver’s License
• Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces
• Knowledge of Electrical Safety Authority regulations
• Strong customer service and problem-solving skills
