As a Structural Design Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in delivering structural engineering solutions across various projects, with a particular focus on new and existing institutional, commercial and residential buildings. From concept design to detailed design and construction, you will apply your expertise to design new structures, evaluate existing structures, provide creative solutions, and support our commitment to excellence.

Represent Sense Engineering professionally, building positive relationships with clients, contractors and other consultants.

Technical Responsibilities Design and analyze structures or structural components for new construction, renovation and restoration projects.

Evaluate existing buildings, leveraging knowledge of diverse materials and structural systems.

Prepare detailed engineering drawings, reports, and specifications.

Prepare evaluation reports, construction documents, and project proposals.

Support project delivery by providing input into the development of project budgets when required.

Collaborate with clients, contractors,



and team members to ensure project success.

Conduct site reviews and contract administration inspections and provide guidance during construction.

Liaise with clients, contractors, and consultants to ensure seamless communication.

Represent Sense at client meetings and other networking functions with a commitment to exceptional service standards.

Occasional travel within Canada required, with the majority of projects to be within Ontario.

Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering with a focus on Structural Engineering from an accredited university.

Minimum 5 years of relevant experience within a structural engineering firm, preferably involving existing buildings and new construction of institutional, commercial and residential buildings.

Strong technical expertise in structural engineering and materials.

Proficiency with structural design software (e.g., S-Frame, ETABS, spSlab) and familiarity with AutoCAD or Revit.

Proven ability to apply project management principles, from strategic planning and budgeting to resource allocation and scope control.

Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal) and relationship building skills with a proven ability to build trust with clients and contractors.

Good working knowledge of MS Office tools, including Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.
