The Maintenance Apprentice will receive on-the-job training on performing inspections, preventative maintenance, and will assist with minor repairs to ensure proper performance and safety of company vehicles. This individual will learn how to properly maintain commercial motor vehicles according to DOT regulations and Company standard Perform limited repairs and preventive maintenance services such as oil changes, lubrication, tune-ups, filter replacements, tire rotations, minor adjustments, etc.
Conduct vehicle safety inspections;
identify, record, and report equipment deterioration for replacement or repair
Assist mechanics with repairs and projects as assigned by supervisor
Tire inspections, removal and replacements
Operate tools, equipment, and machinery according to company safety procedures, and follow established techniques to perform Key Responsibilities:
Assist in maintaining inventory and reporting in M5 program Must be registered as a Level 1 or 2 310T Apprentice
Knowledge of all tools required to perform repairs and maintenance on vehicles
Ability to follow schedules, instructions, technical manuals and maintenance guidelines, and other procedures associated with the maintenance of the company fleet
Ability to communicate effectively with internal and external customers
Flexibility to accept and adapt to change as well as the commitment to seek continuous improvement
Knowledge of proper lifting techniques
