Our department seeks to uphold and strengthen its position as a preeminent leader in education and research, and to continue to develop sustainable solutions for the global community across the spectrum from mineral engineering to urban infrastructure.Your opportunityThe Mining Industry Management Program (MIMP) in the Department of Civil and Mineral Engineering is seeking an eLearning Media Developer to design and develop engaging digital learning experiences for online courses and modules. With the MIMP Director, you will work directly with course instructors from academia and industry to transform subject matter expertise into high-quality educational content through storyboarding, filming, video editing, graphic design, and the development of interactive learning materials using online authoring tools such as Articulate Rise 360. This hands‑on role requires creativity, technical proficiency, and strong collaboration skills to produce accessible, visually engaging, and effective multimedia learning resources that support the successful design, development, and launch of online professional education programs.Your responsibilities will includePlanning and implementing components of digital media communications projectsPlanning and developing pre‑production video ideas into outlines, scripts,



and story boardsAssessing and determining best practices and standards for multiple instructional modalitiesDeveloping e‑learning modules and online assessments using existing software for instructional purposesDeveloping resources on educational related matters for instructors and subject matter expertsDetermining the optimal presentation of video, audio and still imagesImplementing production activities according to plans and schedulesCreating and/or editing original, published content and materialsEssential QualificationsAdvanced College Diploma (3 years) or acceptable combination of equivalent experienceMinimum five years of experience designing and developing online learning using Articulate Rise 360, including interactive modules, instructional videos, knowledge checks, and diverse learning modalitiesStrong expertise in e‑learning development, multi‑media production and the creation of engaging online learning experiencesProven ability to guide instructors through content development and on‑camera delivery, including scriptwriting, coaching, and presentation supportStrong video production and post‑production experience using tools such as Vegas Pro to create high‑quality instructional videos and media assetsDemonstrated experience collaborating with subject matter experts and instructors across diverse disciplines to structure, refine, and validate content into effective learning materialsAbility to translate complex subject matter into transparent, engaging, and learner‑focused educational contentExcellent interpersonal, communication, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to diplomatically navigate differing perspectives and align SMEs and instructors toward successful learning outcomesExperience with graphic design and e‑learning toolsAssets (Nonessential)Completion of a certificate in instructional designExperience working with both faculty and industry subject matter expertsTo be successful in this role you will beMotivated self‑learnerMulti‑taskerOrganizedProactiveProblem solverSelf‑directedLived Experience StatementCandidates who are members of Indigenous, Black, racialized and 2SLGBTQ+ communities, persons with disabilities, and other equity deserving groups are encouraged to apply, and their lived experience shall be taken into consideration as applicable to the posted position.#J-18808-Ljbffr
