I'm working with a well-established and highly active developer that is continuing to expand its commercial portfolio across North America.
They are looking to add a Senior Development Manager who can take ownership of projects from the front end and drive them through planning, design, due diligence, budgeting, and into construction.
This is not a land-focused role. The ideal candidate will have robust vertical development experience and understand what it takes to bring a large scale project from concept to a construction-ready state.
Key responsibilities include:
Managing consultants, architects, engineers, and other design partners
Leading due diligence activities and identifying project risks early
Maintaining and updating project pro formas, budgets, schedules, and project financials
Supporting pricing exercises and ensuring projects are commercially viable
Advancing projects through design development, approvals, and pre-construction planning
Creating detailed project plans and documentation so projects can be seamlessly transitioned to construction and operations teams
Working closely with internal and external stakeholders to keep projects moving forward
What I'm looking for:
Experience managing vertical development projects (can be commercial, warehouses, multifamily, etc)
Solid understanding of development, design, and construction processes
Ability to work effectively with consultants, engineers, architects, and contractors
Comfortable with budgets, pro formas, financial analysis, and project reporting
Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills
Highly organized, detailed, and proactive approach to projects
