In accordance with the established vision, mission, and values of Northern Health, the Advisor, Violence Prevention participates as a key member of the Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) team and works to strengthen Northern Health’s Culture of safety. The position works with all levels of staff in delivery of violence prevention programs and works closely with Operational Leaders to ensure organizational and department objectives are met as they relate to violence prevention. The incumbent is accountable for coordinating, administering, and evaluating the Violence Prevention Program. The Advisor provides key input into the development, implementation and evaluation of new initiatives that promote safe work practices and working environments,
with emphasis on violence prevention by way of improving worker safety through advising management on recommendations for Health Authority-wide and site-specific violence prevention initiatives. The Advisor is a skilled facilitator and supports the delivery of violence prevention train the trainer framework that enhances secure work practices and working conditions. Work may include investigating incidents or other violence prevention issues and advises on hazard control measures. In addition, the Advisor leads, coordinates, and participates in Violence Risk Assessments (VRA) for assigned areas, sites, or programs. The Advisor provides subject matter expertise in violence prevention including the development and administration of programs throughout Northern Health.
The salary range for this position is $76,111 (min) to $95,138 (midpoint) to $109,409 (max) per annum, based on 1.0 FTE. Northern Health typically establishes salaries within the minimum and midpoint of the salary range based on qualifications, experience of the applicant, and an internal equity review of the salaries of other employees.
