The Advisor, Capital Adequacy & Funding reports to the Director, Financial Stability and is responsible for developing and executing banking policy industry positions on capital adequacy, funding, and resolution.

Description of Responsibilities:

- Conduct policy analysis on issues related primarily to capital adequacy, funding, and resolution;
- Monitor, analyze and assist in the development and execution of advocacy plans to effectively convey industry positions pertaining to developments in international and domestic banking regulation, primarily arising from the Basel Committee, Finance, OSFI, Bank of Canada, and CDIC;
- As revised international banking regulation is translated into domestic rules and guidance,



help to ensure that Canadian banks are internationally competitive and not disadvantaged through asymmetrical implementation of recent capital and funding rules;
- Undertake the necessary research to support industry positions;
- Monitor developments of new issues;
- Liaise with representatives on various CBA committees on issues of mutual interest and articulate banking industry positions to regulators, the Department of Finance, etc. on behalf of member banks, as needed;
- Assist to coordinate industry positions for consistency among other areas in the Financial Stability Division and the CBA; and
- Provide CBA representation through participation in the International Banking Federation’s working groups, as appropriate.
