Primary Responsibilities & Attitude We are seeking a tax and accounting expert to facilitate the accurate preparation and filing of information returns, and tax withholding and remittance obligations for the U.S. IRS and the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA). The ideal candidate is a team player who creates and implements tax plans and works with accounting and leadership teams to identify process improvements and risk areas. The Tax Analyst will ensure compliance with state, federal, and international tax law through systems and controls designed for accurate, timely reporting. They will monitor changes to tax regulation and update policies and strategies.



The candidate will focus on maintaining compliance and optimizing reporting procedures to support the tax team’s functions. You Are Responsible For Providing procedural guidance to internal teams for the review of IRS and CRA taxpayer certification forms. Facilitating and managing the preparation and review of U.S. and Canadian returns and the timely filing of all returns with tax authorities and taxpayers. Ensuring timely tax remittance to the CRA and IRS and reconciling tax withholdings. Finding and implementing opportunities for process improvement in company tax procedures. Prioritizing multiple tax filing requirements and working with business lines to ensure timely receipt of information. Maintaining effective control procedures over all aspects of the tax process. Monitoring legislative and regulatory tax law developments, communicating effects to management and the tax team, and creating strategies to capitalize on changes. Providing support with audits and special tax-related projects. Monitoring tax files monthly, reviewing data integrity, and ensuring applicable rates, formulas, and tax factors are applied to income, interest, and distribution events. Skills And Experience Extensive knowledge of individual, corporate, and partnership taxation, including Canadian and U.S. tax rules. Experience in U.S. tax slip preparation. Strong accounting, analytical, and research skills.



Excellent written and oral communication skills. Strong knowledge of tax code, compliance, and procedures for corporations. Experience in the financial services industry, specifically with a trust company is preferred but not required. Experience driving process improvements in tax operations. Ability to use project management and accounting practices to organize and prioritize tasks and mentor other team members. Ability to work well independently and with stakeholders; able to communicate thebenefits of tax initiatives. Solid organizational and interpersonal skills.
