Job Overview
Make It with Pride. Join Mondelēz International as a Health, Safety & Environment Professional. You will provide primary care services and manage the site health program, including safety inspections, ergonomics training and assessments, injury management, and testing programs required by local legislation. Safety is a top priority—your role drives a reduction in both work‑related and non‑work‑related injuries.
Key Responsibilities
Provide primary care services to the site and coordinate the site health program, managing work‑related and non‑work‑related injuries and illnesses.
Coordinate preventative health and wellness programs to reduce work‑related injuries.
Respond to emergencies, performing resuscitation and stabilization of critically ill or injured patients.
Develop health‑related policies and standard operating procedures, delivering necessary training.
Manage, maintain, and administer medical equipment and consumables, adhering to legal and medical standards, including audit of equipment and safe disposal of medicines.
Assess plant risk for health issues or occupational illnesses, implementing preventive measures.
Support a safety culture aligned with Mondelēz Canada Inc. goals, improving HSE results and processes to reduce injuries.
Coordinate HSE compliance and risk assessment activities and support incident investigations.
Develop and deliver HSE training programs and communication materials, and engage the workforce.
Collect, monitor, and analyze environmental data and performance related to carbon,
water, and food.
Assist the operations team with return‑to‑work programs and worker’s compensation claims.
Qualifications
Relevant qualifications in Occupational Health or claims management; a qualified Doctor or Nursing practitioner.
Diploma or degree in OHS/Claims & Injury Management, Workplace Ergonomics, Rehabilitation, or a related discipline.
Experience in Occupational Safety and Health, with strong injury management and rehabilitation experience, ideally in a manufacturing environment.
Knowledge of workers’ compensation and injury management legislative requirements.
Experience in health, safety and environment within manufacturing or commercial settings; familiarity with legislation, regulations, and standards.
Strong verbal and written communication skills, multi‑tasking, time‑management, and ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office and other relevant software.
Education / Certifications
Post‑secondary education in Health, Safety, Environmental, Engineering, or a related field.
Canadian Registered Safety Qualified (CRSP)
or Canadian Registered Safety Technician (CRST) certification desirable but not mandatory.
Job Specific Requirements
Background in manufacturing.
Minimum 3 years of experience in Health, Safety, and Environment, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
Travel Requirements
Occasional travel may be required for training, conferences, or site visits.
Work Schedule
Full‑time, 100% in‑person position at 45 Ewen Road, Hamilton, ON L8S3C4.
Typical hours Monday to Friday, with flexibility for urgent issues 24/7; attendance in meetings and trainings on off‑shifts may be required.
Salary and Benefits
Expected base salary range: $84,500 to $105,650 CAD, depending on experience, skills, education, and budget. Eligible for a highly competitive bonus program with a target of 8% and potential for overachievement. Benefits include health insurance, wellness and family support programs, life and disability insurance, retirement savings plans, paid leave, educational programs, and enhanced vacation and holiday entitlements.
