About The Role
The Process Control Technologist performs duties as a member of the Côté Gold Mill Maintenance Engineering team, collaborating with multiple departments. The role ensures safe, reliable, and effective operation and maintenance of Côté Gold’s process control system. Responsibilities include developing, calculating, designing, and scheduling process control system activities, participating in mill projects, and business improvement initiatives. The schedule is 7/7 or 14/14 at the Côté Gold Mine site.
Responsibilities
Develop, maintain, and optimize process control systems to support safe, reliable, and efficient operations.
Analyze operating data and process performance to identify improvement opportunities and implement optimization initiatives.
Configure and modify control system logic, interlocks, alarms, permissives, and operator displays.
Tune and troubleshoot process control loops and provide technical support to operations, maintenance, and engineering teams.
Support the integration, programming, and commissioning of control system hardware, software, PLCs, MCCs, and VFDs.
Assist with process modifications, capital projects, start‑ups, commissioning activities, and change management requirements.
Maintain the reliability, integrity, and cybersecurity of process control system assets through preventive maintenance, upgrades, audits, and patching.
Collaborate with vendors, contractors, and cross‑functional teams to support system performance and continuous improvement.
Research, evaluate, and implement best practices, emerging technologies, and innovative process control solutions.
Continuously develop technical expertise and contribute to operational excellence through knowledge sharing and benchmarking.
Qualifications
Post‑secondary degree or diploma in Process Control or a related field.
Minimum of 2 years of related work experience in an industrial workplace.
Advanced proficiency in PLC, SCADA, and industrial control system programming, configuration, and troubleshooting.
Strong knowledge of process control, instrumentation, electrical systems, P&IDs;, control narratives, and PID loop tuning.
Experience with industrial networking, virtualization environments, historian databases, motor controllers, and variable frequency drives.
Excellent analytical, communication, and problem‑solving skills with the ability to prioritize work and perform effectively in a fast‑paced environment.

Salary Range: $70,800 – $106,200. The final offer is determined based on skills, qualifications, and competencies, aligned with internal equity.
