Assemble, install and repair boilers, tanks, pressure vessels and related systems using metalworking and welding techniques. Interpret drawings and specifications, perform inspections and testing, and maintain safe working practices on job sites.

Main Duties

Read and interpret blueprints, specifications and work orders to plan fabrication and installation tasks

Measure, cut, shape and assemble metal components using welding, riveting, bolting and thermal cutting methods

Install and align boilers, tanks, pressure vessels and associated piping and structural supports

Perform nondestructive testing, pressure testing and visual inspections to verify integrity and compliance

Maintain and repair existing equipment, replacing worn parts and performing scheduled maintenance

Operate rigging and hoisting equipment and ensure safe material handling on site

Requirements

Completion of a boilermaker apprenticeship, journeyperson trade certificate, or equivalent practical experience





Proven experience with welding and metal fabrication techniques and familiarity with common welding processes

Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics and fabrication specifications

Physical ability to perform heavy manual tasks and work safely at heights and in confined spaces

Experience using hand and power tools, measuring instruments, rigging and hoisting equipment

Commitment to workplace safety and ability to obtain required safety certifications and follow regulatory procedures

Required Skills

Precision measuring and layout techniques

Proficiency with hand and power tools and rigging equipment

Inspection, testing and quality-control awareness

Strong problem-solving, communication and teamwork abilities
