Medical Laboratory Technologist

We’re looking for a Medical Laboratory Technologist to join our Core Lab team in Ottawa, Ontario. You will be responsible for delivering in a timely manner the highest level of clinical and scientific quality to everyone we serve with a variety of testing using the latest technology. Your contributions will make a difference – the results and reports you deliver will be provided to physicians and greatly impact the downstream solutions and treatment critical to saving someone’s life.

Status: Casual

Shift: Various- Monday to Friday; 12:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

Discipline: Chemistry

Work Style: Onsite

Location: 750 Peter Morand , Ottawa, ON

Responsibilities

- Ensuring sample identification is correct and specimen requirements are met according to established procedures.
- Performing routine testing duties within Chemistry which includes but not limited to analyzer maintenance, calibration, QC and troubleshooting.
- Ensuring quality control standards are maintained, investigating missing samples and performing routine maintenance on laboratory equipment.
- Recording, interpreting and/or approving test results.
- Identifying and reporting incidents and non-conformities.

Qualifications

- You thrive independently, applying sound decision making principles and ability to self‑manage in a fast‑paced environment.
- You bring a high level of interpersonal skills and you are a natural fit within a cooperative working environment.
- Carry a CMLTO Registration as a practicing Medical Laboratory Technologist in good standing.
- Proficiency with Word, Excel and Outlook at an intermediate level.




- Solid ability to troubleshoot technical issues and provide recommendations for resolution.
- Nice to have: working experience in the Chemistry and Hematology field, knowledge and understanding of CQI, knowledge of IQMH/Accreditation Canada.

Pay

Pay rate: $35.00-$38.75 per hour. The hiring pay range has been established; however, the final pay offer will be determined by taking into consideration various factors including but not limited to, level of experience and education.
