The role of the Manager, BCM is to own the Blue Rewards Business Continuity Management program. The Manager, BCM will update, amend and review all Business Impact Assessments, Business Continuity Plans, Crisis Management Plan, IT Disaster Recovery Plan and associated documentation on an annual basis. The Manager, BCM will liaise with all internal departments and coordinate with BMO counterparts to ensure plans meet business, regulatory, and audit requirements. The Manager, BCM will conduct training and live exercises to test the plans and responses; document and resolve identified gaps from each exercise.

Responsibilities

Own the Blue Rewards Business Continuity Management program.

Update, amend and review all Business Impact Assessments, Business Continuity Plans, Crisis Management Plan, IT Disaster Recovery Plan and associated documentation annually.

Liaise with internal departments and BMO counterparts to ensure plans meet business, regulatory, and audit requirements.

Conduct training and live exercises to test plans and responses; document and resolve gaps.

Act as Incident Commander with 24/7 Incident Response and Management for Blue Rewards on a rotational basis.

Serve as Change Manager with 7.5/5 Change Request review, assessment and approval for production system implementations, including CERT and Training environments on a rotational basis.

Participate in Audit and Compliance activities.

Advocate for collaborative participation and train/educate others on BCM processes.

Align Blue Rewards plans with BMO regulatory and compliance requirements.

Foster a culture aligned to BMO purpose, values and strategy; role‑model BMO values and behaviors.

Build interdependent teams across functional and operating groups to create the highest value for stakeholders.

Recruit, retain, and enable the career development of top talent.

Manage performance, recognize and reward achievements,



coach employees and manage poor performance.

Provide guidance for mid‑to‑large enterprise‑wide BCM initiatives and event management incidents.

Act as a trusted advisor to assigned business/group.

Influence and negotiate to achieve business objectives and recommend solutions based on analysis.

Assist in strategic plan development and identify emerging issues and trends.

Lead the development, maintenance and management of the LOB Incident Management and Recovery Process.

Support the execution of strategic initiatives in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.

Determine business priorities and sequence for execution of business/group strategy.

Maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders to fulfill service delivery expectations.

Represent business/group on jurisdictional/enterprise response, recovery and status teams during interruption incidents.

Manage databases, provide support for analysis, forecasting and data visualization within governance standards.

Monitor and track performance; address issues.

Design and produce regular and ad‑hoc reports and dashboards.

Lead change management plans, readiness assessments, stakeholder management, execution, evaluation and sustainment.

Define communication plans to influence or change behavior with tailored messaging.

Initiate and manage event status monitoring and reporting.

Plan and implement operational programs.

Deliver timely, accurate, and efficient service.





Manage BCP/Event Management/Disaster Recovery programs.

Support the implementation of BCM, Problem/Event/Recovery Management Frameworks for designated businesses/groups.

Guide senior leaders on recovery plan development, ensuring maintenance and governance activities align with enterprise directives.

Coordinate BCP solution implementation, including documentation, training, testing, and impact assessments.

Coordinate responses of affected units during Crisis activities; represent Enterprise BCM in Incident Response Team.

Lead BCM related projects, audits, and examinations.

Stay abreast of industry standards, best practices, regulatory trends, and FFIEC guidelines.

Provide specialized consulting, analytical and technical support.

Exercise judgment to identify, diagnose, and solve problems within given rules.

Work independently and handle non‑routine situations.

Take measured risks while protecting the bank; apply Risk Management Framework and risk culture.

Qualifications

Typically between 5-7 years of relevant experience and a post‑secondary degree in a related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Industry certification in BCP or CP is considered an asset.

Deep knowledge and technical proficiency gained through extensive education and business experience.

Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Data‑driven decision‑making abilities.

Salary
$69,000.00 - $129,000.00
