This role is responsible for the design, implementation, and optimisation of cloud security controls across Interac’s environments.Operating as a senior individual contributor within the Cloud Security function, this role supports the development and enforcement of cloud security standards by building and integrating security capabilities into cloud platforms and delivery pipelines.The role partners closely with Cloud Platform, Engineering, and Security teams to implement secure cloud architectures, improve visibility and control coverage, and support risk‑based decision making across cloud environments.What You Will Do:Design and implement cloud security controls across AWS, Azure, and hybrid environmentsSupport secure configuration of identity, networking, and data protection servicesBuild and maintain reusable security patterns aligned to enterprise standardsImplement security controls using Infrastructure‑as‑Code and policy‑as‑codeIntegrate security guardrails into CI/CD pipelinesImprove automation to reduce manual effort and increase consistencyOperate and configure cloud security tools (e.g., CSPM, CNAPP, IAM controls)Ensure onboarding of services and platforms into cloud security toolingContribute to improving coverage, visibility, and reportingSupport threat modelling activities for cloud workloadsIdentify security gaps and recommend remediation actionsIntegrate threat intel and risk-based approach into prioritization modelsSupport investigations involving cloud security incidentsContribute to improving security controls based on findingsIdentify recurring issues and suggest improvementsWhat You Bring:5+ years of progressive experience in Information Security, with expertise in designing, implementing,
and supporting security controls across enterprise environments.Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or Information Security.Robust knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) and their native security and identity management (IAM) capabilitiesExperience with developing and implementing automation and security capabilities on cloud platformsExperience with administering Cloud security tools like CSPM, CWPP, SSPM, CNAPP, etc.Highly proficient in programming languages like Python and Java, and Infrastructure-as-Code tools like Terraform and AnsibleExperience with container orchestration systems like Kubernetes + OpenShiftKnowledge of general cybersecurity threats and vulnerabilities and respective mitigation strategiesAbility to translate technical and compliance requirements into engineering roadmap and executionExperience with general SIEM, SOAR, IPS/IDS, VM, EDR, etc. security toolsKnowledge of security industry standards and best practices such as OWASP, ISO 27001/2, NISTCybersecurity certificates such as CISSP, CCSP, CISM and/or technical certificates such as AWS Certified Specialty – Security, or Azure Security EngineerExcellent communicator, comfortable with discussing complex technical concepts with engineers or leaders.Outcomes driven, the ability to figure-it-out to reach the desired outcomeStrong sense of personal responsibility and accountability for delivering high quality work, both personally and at a team levelAbility to communicate effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholdersAbility to work autonomously with attention to detailAn understanding of technical concepts and are an avid learner of new technologyCCSP, CISSP, CISM, or AWS/Azure certifications considered an asset.Eligibility to work for Interac Corp. in Canada in a full‑time capacity.What We’re Offering:The hiring range for this position is $110,000 - $130,000 , and you will also be eligible for our short-term incentive plan. The exact amount will depend on factors such as skills, experience, and job-related knowledge, but Interac’s commitment goes beyond compensation.
