Part-Time Tutors – All Subjects, Grades 1–12
Multiple Positions Available
Scholars of Mississauga Central is seeking passionate, enthusiastic, and reliable part-time tutors to join our growing team. We are currently hiring tutors to support students across Grades 1–12 in a variety of subjects.
As a tutor at Scholars, you will have the opportunity to make a positive impact on students both academically and personally. We take pride in delivering meaningful results, and our tutors play an essential role in helping students build confidence, strengthen their skills, and reach their full potential.
Successful candidates will receive training in Scholars’ teaching methodology and curriculum.
Subjects We Are Hiring For
We welcome applicants who can teach one or more of the following areas:
- Elementary and middle-school Math, English, Reading, and Writing
- High-school Mathematics, including Functions, Advanced Functions, Calculus and Vectors, and Data Management
- High-school Sciences, including Biology, Chemistry, and Physics
- French for elementary and high-school students
- Additional elementary and high-school subjects
Applicants are not required to teach every subject. Please clearly indicate the grades and subjects you are qualified and comfortable teaching.
Mandatory Requirements
- Solid oral and written English communication skills are required, as tutors must be able to clearly explain concepts and communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff.
- Successful candidates must be eligible to work with children and will be required to provide a satisfactory Vulnerable Sector Check as a condition of employment.
Qualifications
- Ontario Certified Teacher designation is preferred but not required
- Teachers College students and university students or graduates specializing in Mathematics, Sciences, French, English, Education, or a related field are encouraged to apply
- Previous teaching, tutoring, mentoring, or experience working with children and youth is an asset
- A genuine passion for helping students succeed
- Excellent organizational skills, reliability, and attention to detail
- Ability to teach small groups of up to three students
- Confidence teaching the subjects and grade levels identified in your application
- Ability to adapt instruction according to each student’s individual learning needs
Availability Candidates must be available for a minimum of two shifts per week during our operating hours:
- Monday to Friday: 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
- Saturday: 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
