POSITION: Teacher

SALARY: According to WBE Salary Grid and Qualifications/Experience

START DATE: August 31, 2026

Under the direct supervision of the Principal, and the general supervision of the Superintendent of Academics, the Teacher will be responsible for delivering high-quality instruction, fostering a supportive and inclusive classroom environment, and promoting student growth in alignment with Anishinabek values and educational goals. This role plays a key part in nurturing students’ academic, social, and emotional development while collaborating with staff, families, and the broader school community.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Deliver curriculum-aligned instruction at the primary, junior, intermediate or secondary level

- Perform the duties of the teacher as specified in the Education Act.

- Uphold ethical standards of practice as outlined by the Ontario College of Teachers.

- Foster a caring, inclusive and stimulating learning environment

- Promote student development across physical, social, cognitive, and emotional domains

- Collaborate with staff, parents, and community members to support student success





- Maintain classroom discipline and contribute to school-wide supervision

- Engage in professional development and reflective teaching practices

- Incorporate Anishinabek culture, language, and the Seven Grandfather Teachings into instruction

A current Criminal Reference Check with Vulnerable Sector screening upon offer of employment.

QUALIFICATIONS:

- Valid Ontario College of Teachers certification/registration and QECO Registration

- Additional Qualifications (AQ) in Native as a Second Language, Special Education, and Guidance are considered assets w/flexibility to adapt to teaching workplace.

- Knowledge of Board policies and Ministry of Education guidelines.

- Demonstrated understanding and appreciation of Anishinabek Culture, Traditions, Language and History.

- Strong communication, planning, and classroom management skills
