Role Summary

The Finance Shared Services Manager leads the national Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) functions while supporting Modern Niagara's transition to a centralized Shared Services Centre (SSC) model. Reporting to the Director of Finance and Shared Services, this role is responsible for designing, implementing, and optimizing standardized processes, controls, and service delivery models across multiple regions. Success in this role means improved operational efficiency, consistent financial processes, strong team performance, and a seamless transition to a unified national shared services structure.

Key Impact / Purpose

- Lead the successful transition to a national Shared Services Centre model for Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable.
- Standardize finance processes, controls, and policies across regions to improve efficiency and consistency.
- Drive operational excellence through process optimization, automation, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Support robust financial performance through effective management of AP, AR, collections, vendor relationships, and key performance metrics.

Duties and Responsibilities

- Shared Services Transformation Leadership:
- Lead the end‑to‑end transition to a national Shared Services Centre model for AP and AR, including planning, execution, stakeholder engagement, and change management.
- Assess current AP and AR workflows, controls, and processes across regional teams, identifying opportunities for improvement and standardization.
- Design and implement scalable future‑state operating procedures aligned with shared services best practices.
- Support the development and execution of transition roadmaps, resource plans, milestones, and risk mitigation strategies in partnership with the Director of Finance and Shared Services and external consultants.
- Partner with AP and AR supervisors and team members to ensure continuity of service and employee engagement throughout the transition.
- Support ERP process improvements and automation opportunities within NetSuite and related systems.
- Communicate progress, risks, and key decisions to leadership and stakeholders throughout the implementation.

- Accounts Payable Leadership:

- Provide leadership and oversight to the national AP function,



including two regional teams comprising approximately 2 supervisors and 9 AP specialists and clerks.
- Develop, monitor, and improve AP controls, processes, and workflows while ensuring compliance with organizational standards.
- Monitor AP performance metrics including invoice processing cycle times, on‑time payments, and discount realization.
- Resolve complex vendor issues, payment disputes, and escalated concerns.
- Collaborate with procurement, project management, and finance teams to support efficient AP operations and business alignment.

- Accounts Receivable Leadership:

- Provide leadership and oversight to the national AR function, including two regional teams comprising approximately 2 supervisors and 4 AR specialists.
- Monitor accounts receivable aging, collections performance, Days Sales Outstanding (DSO), and related performance metrics.
- Establish and maintain consistent credit, collections, and receivables management practices across all regions.
- Support the resolution of complex billing disputes and ensure revenue recognition accuracy in collaboration with project and finance teams.

- Team Development & Continuous Improvement:

- Lead, coach, and develop AP and AR supervisors through performance management, mentorship, and career development planning.
- Foster a culture of accountability, customer service, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Lead ongoing process improvement initiatives, including automation, reporting enhancements, and technology optimization.
- Support the development of training programs, onboarding materials, and process documentation for shared services operations.

Expected annual compensation: $85,000 - $110,000.

Must Haves

- Bachelor's degree or certificate in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 6–8 years of progressive experience in accounting operations.




- 2–3 years of leadership experience overseeing Accounts Payable and/or Accounts Receivable functions.
- Demonstrated experience leading or playing a significant role in a shared services implementation, consolidation, or finance transformation initiative.
- Strong knowledge of end‑to‑end AP and AR processes, controls, and best practices within a multi‑entity environment.
- Experience with ERP systems and finance technology platforms.
- Proven ability to lead, coach, and develop geographically dispersed teams.
- Strong communication, organizational, stakeholder management, and change leadership skills.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to identify process gaps, operational risks, and improvement opportunities.

Nice to Haves

- Experience with NetSuite ERP.
- Experience within the construction, contracting, or project‑based industries.
- Experience leading finance automation, workflow optimization, or process improvement initiatives.
- Formal change management or shared services transformation experience.
