Position Title Technical Producer, Production Services, Olympics Host Country (On Site) Job Summary As Technical Producer, you will manage the human, technical, and material resources required for the Olympic Games host country, supporting English Services teams in Toronto and French Services teams in Montreal. You will act as a management representative during the preparation, survey, and execution phases of both the Olympic and Paralympic Games.

Key Responsibilities - Participate in technical surveys for upcoming events, traveling to locations to determine technical requirements and obstacles, and assess feasibility of production requirements.

- Determine crew size, equipment needs, schedules and approximate costs of remote originations.
- Execute complex tasks and processes that influence remote event outcomes under the direction of lead Technical Producers.
- Provide cost estimates and projections related to remote technical elements, revenue projects, and innovations to Finances and Sports Management.
- Design or commission technical drawings to identify scope and impacts of technical projects on CBC/Radio‑Canada infrastructure.
- Provide direction and assistance to personnel throughout projects.
- Compile and distribute pre‑event paperwork, manage budgeting, supervise on site and produce post‑event reports.
- Install, operate, teardown, and maintain technical equipment, ensuring quality of remote origination.
- Advise production personnel and Operations Producers on technical costs and options as situations arise.




- Collaborate closely with organizing bodies on the implementation of technical processes for each show or event.
- Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of the latest advances in technical innovation.
- Participate in the approval process for vendor selection, uplink facilities, and fiber connections.
- Maintain communication flow with management regarding current technical developments affecting other shows.

Required Qualifications - College diploma (DEC) in audiovisual production, communications, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

- At least ten (10) years of media production experience, including coordination and execution of large, high‑profile projects.
- Advanced knowledge of the technical equipment requirements of CBC and Radio‑Canada’s remote operations functions.
- In‑depth awareness of developments in equipment technology and procedures.
- Strong working knowledge of electronics and facilities in broadcasting across video, audio, RF, lighting, media management, and maintenance areas.
- Proficient in high‑definition workflows between remote and studio operations.
- Solid understanding of production principles: video formats and standards, video acquisition, media management,



transmission methods, signal routing, audio and communication systems.
- Ability to communicate clearly and collaborate effectively with technical teams and external suppliers.
- Skill in troubleshooting problems and delivering efficient solutions on site.
- Knowledge of health and safety standards and practices.
- Intermediate proficiency in English and French (reading, speaking, writing).

Preferred Qualifications - Experience in IP connectivity and its relation to technical equipment used on remote events.

- Experience coordinating with vendors and managing logistical workflows for live broadcasts.
- Relationship experience with CBC and SRC departments such as Media Engineering, Digital, Media Production Services, Presentation, and Finance.
- Willingness to travel to the host country and remain several weeks before and after the event. Physical & Travel Requirements - Unusual hours, regular travel, and lifting of moderate loads as required.
