About Daedal SystemsDaedal Systems is a plasma diagnostic company for the fusion energy industry. We are building the measurement infrastructure layer upon which fusion will be realized.The RoleDaedal Systems is looking for a Diagnostic Physicist to lead the design, deployment, and operation of Thomson Scattering diagnostics, a key system within our industrialized plasma diagnostic platform. Reporting to the Vice President of Science, you will be the senior technical authority on Thomson measurement, and be responsible for bringing Thomson Scattering diagnostics from low TRL, bench-top systems to industrialized, deployable systems. These systems will then be integrated on fusion devices across the industry.EducationMaster's degree or higher in physics, engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experienceEssential RequirementsDemonstrable track record designing and deploying Thomson scattering diagnostics on MCF fusion devices, measuring electron temperature and density profilesExperience developing detailed diagnostic specifications that translate physics measurement requirements (e.G. Te, ne, spatial and temporal resolution) into achievable instrument performanceDirect experience with Thomson scattering subsystems: high-power pulsed laser systems, polychromators/spectrometers, and rapid, low-light detectors (e.G.



ICCD, streak camera, or avalanche photodiode arrays)Experience with calibration techniques for Thomson scattering systems (e.G.
