ROARis Tofino's favorite live fire restaurant and bar that makes every mealfeel as relaxing and fun as a roaring beach fire. Right now, we are turning upthe heat on our huntfor a full-time 2nd Cook.

Locatedin the swanky Hotel Zed, ROAR is the first restaurant by Accent Inns Inc! We'rea family-owned, BC-based hospitality company that LEADS WITH LOVE and ournumber one metric as a company is the happiness of our staff, who we call ourFam-Jam cause we are like family.

What You'll Do

As a 2nd Cook you rock theexecution of all food menu items accurately, efficiently and consistently. Youwork cohesively with the culinary team to make sure the food coming out of thekitchen is exactly what it should be. The role also includes:

- Managing food quality, portion control and plate presentation through 100% recipe adherence
- Compliancy with all safe food handling,



Health & Safety and Food Safe BC requirements
- Complete understanding of F.I.F.O. and product yield
- Following standards of cleanliness, timing, organization, production, food quality, and consistency through completion of operational checklists
- Maintaining the work area, including all counter tops, utensils, equipment, and refrigeration in a clean and sanitary condition in accordance with Health & Safety regulations
- Ensure all products are prepared, held, and served at correct temperatures and correct visual appearance

Job Requirements

- 1-2 years culinary experience in a full-service restaurant is an asset
- Experience with dessert or baking is an asset but not required
- Must be cutting-edge, detail-oriented and quality driven
- Must be responsible, able to take initiative, maintain supervision in a fast-paced high-energy environment
- Creative, energetic, with good interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work flexible hours including mornings, days, evenings, nights, weekends and holidays
- Culinary degree or diploma considered an asset but not required
- Food Safe BC certificate
