The Internal Communications Partner is responsible for developing and implementing effective communication strategies and products to ensure employee understanding and engagement with Air Canada's objectives, corporate culture, initiatives, policies, and procedures. The incumbent leads, develops, and manages alignment strategies with company messages and objectives.
Responsibilities:
- Develop, manage and lead communication strategies for various Operations groups or various Company departments.
- Work closely with all departments to provide comprehensive communications leadership, including developing communication plans and products, writing, and editing, for various initiatives and programs, with varying degrees of complexity and duration.
- Develop strategies to improve the effectiveness and delivery of communications, to ensure consistency between departments and company messages and objectives.
- Advise and support certain Vice-Presidents on strategies, content, and messages.
- Provide communications leadership, coaching, and guidance to other departmental managers responsible for communicating operational information.
- Maintain strong working relationships with all departmental communicators, to ensure consistency and quality of messages and tone, as well as timely dissemination of information.
- Provide leadership and management for the development of strategic content, as well as the logistics of presentations and executive communication activities, such as roadshows.
- Manage the presence and content of communications on the intranet.
- Train managers to develop their social media skills for the internal social space (currently Viva Engage).
- Ensure that departments are well represented in all company-wide internal communication channels (Horizons, The Point, Viva Engage).
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in communications, an asset.
- Exceptional writing and editing skills in English.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects with conflicting deadlines.
- Highly strategic mindset; ability to identify the requirements of different audiences and create messages and channels based on identified requirements.
- Highly developed social media skills; experience and comfort with other digital and electronic media, such as webinars, chat, video, etc.
- Great comfort collaborating with senior leaders and providing them with advice and feedback.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure.
- Highly motivated, excellent leadership, strong interpersonal skills, and team spirit.
- Knowledge of Word and PowerPoint, and all forms of electronic communication, including digital media and social media.
Terms of employment:
