Become an Administrative Penalty Screening Officer with the City of Cambridge and contribute to community compliance. This part time role emphasizes impartial reviews while promoting transparency within municipal processes. The successful candidate will report to the Manager of Municipal By-Law Compliance and Corporate Security. You will work a three-day week and engage in educating the public about city by-laws.
Your role will involve reviewing documentation and making judicious decisions on penalties, along with ensuring accessibility for diverse community members. Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct online and in-person administrative reviews of penalties
- Render independent decisions based on submitted evidence
- Manage and reconcile penalty payment data accurately
- Prepare decisions and represent the city at hearings
- Communicate effectively with the public about administrative processes Requirements:
- Two-year diploma; legal or community services focus
- At least one year of experience in relevant legislation
- Background in adjudication or mediation preferred
- SOAR membership preferred
