Role Description

This full-time, on-site Tower Technician role is located in Crossfield, AB. The Tower Technician is responsible for installing and modifying telecommunications towers and structures, including mounting antennas, radios, and related hardware. Day-to-day tasks include climbing towers safely, performing routine maintenance and repairs, installing and testing fiber and wireless equipment, and assisting with civil and electrical work as required. The role also involves troubleshooting network and equipment issues, completing site surveys, documenting work performed,



and supporting project managers with construction preparation and close-out. The Tower Technician is expected to follow all safety procedures, work effectively in a team, and adapt to varying outdoor conditions and schedules.

Qualifications

- Strong mechanical aptitude and proficiency with hand tools, including safe use of climbing and rigging equipment.
- Ability to perform troubleshooting, maintenance & repair on tower structures, RF equipment, and related network hardware.
- Clear and qualified communication skills for collaborating with team members, contractors, and project managers.
- Foundational knowledge of wireless networking, including antennas, cellular repeaters, and point-to-point links.
- Comfort working at heights and outdoors in varying weather conditions; ability to meet physical demands of climbing and lifting.
- Understanding of safety standards and regulations related to tower work; relevant safety certifications (e.g., fall protection, first aid) are an asset.
- Experience in telecommunications, construction, or electrical work is preferred; familiarity with fiber optics testing is beneficial.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation; willingness to travel to various sites as required.
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical training or trade certification in a related field is an advantage.
