Overview A unique and exciting opportunity to work with horses and be out in nature daily!
Silverstone Adventures is seeking a reliable, hardworking, and charismatic individual to join our trail ride team! We are a customer-focused horseback riding business offering guided trail experiences in the Vivian forest. The ideal candidate is confident around horses, enjoys working outdoors, and can provide excellent customer service in a fast-paced setting.
Responsibilities
- Caring for our horse team: feeding, cleaning, and all other general care needs.
- Tacking up and preparing trail horses for a ride.
- Lead guided tours along designated trails, ensuring the safety and well-being of all participants.
- Provide engaging commentary and answer questions to enhance the visitor experience.
- Communicate effectively with diverse groups of people, adapting your approach to suit various audiences.
- Utilize time management skills to keep tours on schedule while allowing for adequate exploration and interaction.
- Maintain equipment and ensure that all necessary supplies are available for each trip.
- Cleaning, assembling, and organizing tack.
- Basic maintenance of horse paddock infrastructure.
- Demonstrating riding technique and safe handling to guest.
- Feeding the horses and moving hay bales,.
- Cleaning stalls and maintaining barn areas.
- Mucking fields.
- Preparing and feeding horses between ride sessions.
- Greeting customers at check-in and payments when needed.
- Handling phone and email inquires.
- Overseeing special bookings(photoshoots, proposals, etc).
Qualifications
- Knowledge of riding Western and English is needed.
- First Aid certification.
- Extensive horsemanship skills are required. The guide must be able to gallop, pony, catch, and tack up various horses.
- Comfortable operating tractors.
- A degree of fearlessness is required for this role, as you will be riding a wide degree of horses.
- Physically capable of lifting 75+ lbs and working outdoors in all weather. Hoisting and lifting heavy saddles, feed bags, and mounting blocks will be a daily and regular occurrence.
- Weekend availability (required).
- Access to a vehicle is required as there is no public transit access.
- Proven customer service skills with a friendly and approachable demeanor.
- Strong public speaking abilities to engage groups of varying sizes.
- Leadership experience in guiding or managing groups is preferred.
- Excellent time management skills to ensure tours run smoothly and efficiently.
- Multilingual or bilingual abilities are a plus, enhancing communication with diverse guests.
- A passion for nature, outdoor activities, and environmental education is essential.
- Previous experience as a trail guide or in a similar role is an advantage but not mandatory.
Compensation will be discussed during the interview process and is based on experience and skill level.
Job Type: Seasonal
Pay: $168.00-$300.00 per day
