Position Information
Job Title: STEM Project Facilitator. Appointment Type: FT Temporary Position. Dates: September 2026-June 30, 2027. Hours per week/FTE: 35.

About the Position
Are you passionate about helping students see science and math in action? Do you value hands-on, meaningful learning experiences for children and youth? This could be an opportunity to make a real impact in STEM and trades education for K-12 learners in Alberta.

The STEM Project brings together K-12 schools, skilled trades professionals, and post-secondary institutions to help students understand how their math and science learning connects to careers in the trades. The project also supports teachers by providing curriculum-aligned resources and access to skilled tradespeople who can help make those connections meaningful for students.

As a Project Facilitator for The STEM Project at Lethbridge Polytechnic, you will work with faculty, instructional designers, AV specialists, media specialists, writers, and formatters to create resources and learning experiences that connect K-12 science and mathematics curriculum with the skilled trades.

Position Details
As The STEM Project Teacher Consultant, You Will

Plan, conduct and document collaborative working sessions with teachers, faculty, and staff to identify curricular connections between trades and K-12 Science and Math curriculums

Design lessons for K-12 students,



in alignment with the Alberta Program of Studies for Grades K-9 Math and Science as well as Math 10-C, 20-1, 20-2, 30-1 and 30-2, Science 10, Physics 20 and 30, Chemistry 20 and 30 and Biology 20 and 30 in both English and French

Coordinate and lead both in-class and on-campus science and math focused activities province wide in both English and French for groups of K-12 learners using project deliverables

Design and deliver presentations for diverse groups and events, including conferences, meetings, and teacher professional development sessions

Draw upon experience in K-12 education to make recommendations about project deliverables, such as learning kits, activities, videos, 3D printable files, VR experiences

Collect feedback and refine prototype deliverables

Develop storyboards and videos in collaboration with media specialists

Collaborate with faculty and industry representatives to develop and produce/compile project, demonstration, and tool kits.

Lead ongoing system development to support program delivery, including refinement and iteration of booking tools and processes

Lead maintenance of website information in collaboration with media specialists and Lethbridge Polytechnic teams

Collect quantitative and qualitative data on the impact of the project on perceptions toward post-secondary education

Analyze data and synthesize findings into reports and communications for internal and external audiences

Develop and execute a communications strategy for the project, including use of web, newsletter, and social media platforms

Oversee dissemination and maintenance of circulation assets.

Collaborate with the STEM team in weekly meetings to track progress and identify milestones

This position requires the consultant to travel frequently with a variety of instructional resources, educational kits,



and promotional materials that need to be transported both on and off campus.

Required Qualifications

An undergraduate degree in Education, with a specialization in Math or Science

Significant and successful teaching experience in K-12 science and/or mathematics

Strong organizational and self-management skills, including the ability to multi-task, prioritize, and attend to detail

Strong oral and written communication skills

The ability to work in a creative, collaborative team environment

Willingness to be hands-on and complete physical tasks.

Commitment to work towards Lethbridge Polytechnic’s institutional strategies with positivity and enthusiasm

Experience working with the skilled trades in any capacity

Must be able to travel province wide and have valid driver’s license

Eligible to work in Canada

Successful candidate will be required to provide criminal record and vulnerable sector checks prior to start date.

Preferred Qualifications

Master’s degree in Education

B.Ed in Modern Languages or excellent proficiency in both oral and written language

Knowledge and experience in Project/Problem based learning and/or inquiry-based learning instructional approaches

A continuous interest in lifelong learning

Knowledge/experience with apprenticeship training

Competency with Microsoft products including Word, Teams and Excel

Salary Starting from $44.42 to $52.26 per hour, commensurate with education and experience.
