Your Responsibilities
You’ll coordinate workplace inspections, hazard assessments, accident investigations, and recommend corrective and preventative actions.
You’ll lead ergonomic assessments, coordinate safety equipment recommendations, and support PPE compliance and inventory management.
You’ll review and update safety programs, policies,
and procedures to ensure compliance with legislative requirements and industry best practices.
You’ll coordinate employee safety training, workplace audits, and support ongoing occupational health and safety initiatives and special projects.
You’ll prepare reports, maintain safety records, support Workplace Health and Safety Committee activities, and analyze safety data to identify improvement opportunities.
You’ll collaborate with internal stakeholders to provide expert safety guidance and support investigations involving operational safety matters.
Skills and Qualifications
2-4 years of progressive Occupational Health and Safety experience.
College diploma or university degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, Science, Biology, or a related discipline.
Demonstrated experience developing safety policies, procedures, reports, orientation programs, and coordinating safety training.
Strong knowledge of provincial and/or federal OHS legislation, incident investigation techniques, and risk assessment methodologies.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office, along with experience managing safety records and reporting.
Excellent organizational, communication, analytical, and relationship-building skills, with the ability to work independently in a fast-paced workplace.
Ergonomics experience, ISO 4501 knowledge, and progress toward a recognized OHS designation are an asset.
