Job Details Salary range: $62,464 - $80,000 Vacation: 20 days Shift structure: Monday to Friday, 7.25 hours per day Primary location: CASA Fort Road Union:E xempt FTE:1.0 Status: Term until October 2027 Hybrid/Multi-site About the Role Reporting to the Manager, Occupational Health and Patient Safety (OHPS), the OHPS Coordinator is responsible for carrying out day-to-day tasks to maintain the organizations health and patient safety programs.

The OHPS Coordinator supports organizational compliance with provincial legislation and contributes to fostering a culture of occupational health and patient safety aligned with CASAs values.

The Occupational Health and Patient Safety Coordinator will: Respond to OHPS inquiries in a timely manner and escalate as appropriate.

Monitor CASAs safety incident management system (SIMS) for occupational health, patient safety, and reportable incident reports.

Escalate incidents, near misses and patient safety concerns to OHPS Advisors based on established thresholds.

Prioritize and carry out action items assigned to OHPS because of incidents or inspections.

Support the OHPS team by maintaining and tracking safety data including fire drills, inspection reports, first aid and fire warden training etc.

Conduct ergonomics assessments/adjustments and on-site equipment audits at multiple CASA sites.

Plan, organize and ensure the successful delivery of OHPS training including but not limited to first aid, fire warden and emergency preparedness.

skills and abilities Strong knowledge of the OHS Act, regulations and code requirements.

Strong attention to detail, communication and presentation skills.

Knowledge of adult learning principles is an asset.

Ability to build and maintain trusting working relationships with internal and external careholders.

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team.

Robust time management skill and the ability to handle multiple competing priorities.

Qualifications and Experience Post-secondary certificate or diploma in occupational health and safety is required.

Experience in a health care environment (hospital, community-based or equivalent) or mental health treatment setting is a strong asset.

Education in patient safety provided by a recognized Canadian organization or similar education or experience is an asset.

Ability to attain and maintain Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI) certification (training provided by CASA).

Canadian Registered Safety Technician (CRST) designation is an asset.

Valid first aid and CPR certification is an asset.

Conditions of Employment A satisfactory Criminal Records Check.

Class 5 Drivers licence with access to a reliable vehicle.





Working Conditions Regular travel between CASA locations across Alberta will be required.

Must be able to lift 30 lbs on a regular basis.

Ability to sit for long periods of time.
