Our public sector client is seeking a Workday Payroll, Absence and Time Tracking Lead to support and optimize Workday Payroll, Absence and Time Tracking configuration in a complex Canadian payroll environment Join a Workday Digital Capability Team supporting complex Canadian payroll operations within a large unionized environment.

This role leads Workday Payroll Canada configuration, payroll processing support, troubleshooting, releases, and enhancements across Payroll, Absence, and Time Tracking.

The position supports highly complex bargaining-unit payrolls with visibility across HR, Payroll Operations, Finance, IT, and vendor teams.

Term Employee, Ottawa, Hybrid, (or remote) Working Hours: EST Must Haves Workday Payroll Certification for Canadian Payroll 7+ years of Workday experience including 4+ years supporting Workday Payroll , Absence , and Time Tracking configuration Canadian payroll support within a unionized setting including collective agreements , overtime , and retro pay Workday Payroll Canada configuration including earnings , deductions , tax authorities , pay groups ,



and payroll schedules Nice to Have Workday Core HCM experience Workday Compensation experience Workday Benefits experience Workday Recruiting experience Availability for occasional travel to Ottawa office if remote Responsibilities Serve as the lead SME for Workday Payroll Canada Configure and maintain payroll business processes, security, reports, earnings, deductions, tax authorities, pay groups, payroll schedules, payroll balances, and retro pay processing Configure and support payroll-related Absence and Time Tracking rules including leave plans, accruals, overtime, shift premiums, and time calculations Support end-to-end payroll processing, validation, reconciliation, and year-end activities Troubleshoot payroll calculations, gross-to-net discrepancies, retro pay, absence, and time-related payroll issues Support payroll integrations, EIBs, testing, Workday releases, enhancements, and production support Partner with HR, Payroll Operations, Finance, IT, vendors, and project teams
