An established and growing General Contractor is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead commercial construction projects from pre-construction through closeout and warranty.
This individual will play a critical role in overseeing all aspects of project delivery, including project planning, budgeting, procurement, scheduling, contract administration, stakeholder management, and project execution. The successful candidate will immediately assume responsibility for a significant ground-up commercial construction project and will contribute to the continued growth of the organization's Edmonton operations.

Key Responsibilities
Manage the full project lifecycle from pre-construction planning through project closeout and warranty.
Develop, maintain, and update project plans, schedules, budgets, resource requirements, and risk assessments.
Deliver projects safely, on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with contractual obligations and quality standards.
Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, consultants, Superintendents, Project Coordinators, and field teams to ensure productive project execution.
Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress, workmanship, safety compliance, and adherence to project specifications.
Develop and manage project budgets, forecasts, cost controls, and financial reporting to support project profitability.
Prepare, review, negotiate, and administer contracts, subcontracts, change orders, tender packages, and project documentation.
Oversee procurement activities to ensure materials and equipment are secured and delivered in alignment with project schedules.
Develop and maintain master construction schedules, monitor critical path activities, and implement contingency plans to mitigate delays.
Identify project risks and proactively implement solutions to protect project schedules, budgets, quality, and contractual commitments.
Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, providing regular updates and maintaining strong stakeholder relationships.
Lead project meetings, including pre-construction, progress, coordination, and closeout meetings.
Partner closely with field leadership to optimize labour, equipment, and resource utilization.
Ensure compliance with project specifications, building codes, safety regulations, and quality-control standards.
Maintain inspection records, deficiency logs, and corrective action plans.
Promote and reinforce a strong safety culture across all project stakeholders.
Mentor and support Project Coordinators while providing guidance and leadership to Superintendents and field teams.
Support project closeout activities, client handover, warranty management, and post-project reviews.
Assist with project-related accounts receivable and financial reconciliation activities.
Identify opportunities for process improvements, technology adoption, and operational efficiencies to enhance project delivery and client satisfaction.
Qualifications
Required
3-6 years of experience as a Project Manager within commercial construction.
Experience working for a General Contractor.
Proven experience managing commercial construction projects through the full project lifecycle.
Strong knowledge of project budgeting, forecasting, scheduling, procurement, cost control, and contract administration.
Experience coordinating subcontractors, suppliers, consultants, and construction teams.
Strong client-facing communication and stakeholder management skills.
Established relationships within the Edmonton construction market and familiarity with local subcontractors and trades.
Valid driver's license and ability to travel regularly to project sites.
Specific Software/Systems Experience: Vista ERP,Bluebeam, Workhub,Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word
Preferred
Experience delivering large-scale, ground-up commercial construction projects.
Construction Engineering Technology Diploma or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Project Management Professional (PMP) designation.
Certified Engineering Technologist (C.E.T.) designation.
Gold Seal Certification.
Red Seal trade certification or previous hands-on construction experience.
National Construction Safety Officer (NCSO) certification or other relevant safety credentials.
Experience mentoring Project Coordinators and developing field leadership teams.
Experience implementing construction technology solutions, reporting tools, or process improvements.
