Lakeridge Health is hiring a Temporary Full Time Registered Nurse in Ajax for the Inpatient Lactation Consultant role. Join a dedicated team focused on providing specialized breastfeeding support and education.
As a key member of the Women's and Children's Healthcare program, you will deliver excellent patient care to both inpatient and outpatient families. This position requires expertise in lactation consultation, particularly with NICU infants and high-risk cases, as well as participation in patient education programs. To succeed, you’ll need to apply nursing competencies and work within an interprofessional team setting.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide breastfeeding information and support to families
• Facilitate nursing education programs on breastfeeding
• Maintain professional competence and clinical standards
• Collaborate as part of the health care team
• Lead inpatient and outpatient support groups as needed
Requirements:
• Registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario
• Current BCLS and NRP certifications
• BScN or equivalent preferred
• Experience in Lactation Consultation within NICU
• Strong communication and decision-making skills
