Role Description The Survey Party Chief is a full time, on-site role based in Whitchurch-Stouffville, ON. This role oversees field survey crews, plans daily survey activities, and ensures surveys are completed accurately, safely, and on schedule. Responsibilities include setting up and operating survey equipment, collecting and verifying field data, conducting boundary, topographic, and construction layout surveys,



and maintaining detailed field notes and documentation. The Survey Party Chief will coordinate with project managers and office staff, interpret plans and specifications, and communicate progress and issues clearly to stakeholders. The role also involves mentoring crew members, enforcing quality and safety standards, and supporting continuous improvement of survey methods and procedures.
Qualifications Cadastral and land-focused survey skills, including Land Surveying and Topographic Surveys.
Experience with SRPR Reference Plan Subdivision Surveys.
Proficiency with field instruments and technologies, including Total Station and related survey equipment.
Solid understanding of survey principles, field procedures, and construction layout practices.
Relevant education in geomatics, surveying, civil engineering technology, or a related discipline.
Experience as a Survey Party Chief or senior crew member in land or construction surveying.
Ability to interpret engineering drawings, legal descriptions, and survey plans accurately.
Solid organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills, with a focus on safety and quality.
Valid driver’s license and ability to work outdoors in varying site and weather conditions.
