We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Design Manager to lead a team of Mechanical Designers in a custom automation environment. This role combines technical leadership with people management, overseeing custom machine design projects from concept through manufacturing while ensuring quality, resource planning, and on-time project deliver
Responsibilities
Lead, mentor, and develop a team of Mechanical Designers.
Manage engineering resources and project priorities.
Review and approve mechanical designs for quality, manufacturability, and compliance.
Support custom automation projects from concept through manufacturing and commissioning.
Collaborate with Manufacturing, Controls, Project Management, and Sales teams. Drive engineering standards, continuous improvement, and technical problem-solving.
Qualifications
8-10+ years of mechanical design experience in custom automation, machine building, or special purpose equipment.
Previous leadership or team management experience.
Strong SolidWorks skills.
Experience with machining, fabrication, pneumatics, hydraulics, robotics, servo systems, and industrial automation.
Mechanical Engineering degree, diploma, or equivalent industry experience.
