The RPN reports to the Director of Care and plays a pivotal role in enriching the lives of residents by supporting medication administration, treatments, and assessments. The RPN participates in all multidisciplinary meetings to ensure excellent care for the residents. This is a Permanent Part Time Evenings role, though extended hours may be required from time to time. The workplace is fast‑paced and deadline‑driven, requiring high attention to detail and strong time management skills. The role includes regular use of computer systems and collaboration with cross‑functional teams. Key Responsibilities Ensure resident care is provided with established nursing standards and principles, physicians’ orders, and administrative policies, while observing, reporting, and recording vital signs, symptoms, and conditions of residents, and initiating remedial health measures where appropriate. Assess residents and develop, implement, reviewRadar evaluate resident care plans. Monitor residents’ health, note changes in condition, and assess pleine need for referral to doctors; process and implement physician orders. Organize and direct functions and activities related to the provision of care to residents, including restorative care and palliative care as required,



and interpret and implement established policies, procedures, and regulations. Plan, direct, supervise, and evaluate the work of nursing and personal care staff assigned to the unit. Orient and train new personnel and may participate in in‑service education. Monitor performance and conduct performance appraisal and refer problems to the Director of Care. Knowledge and Skills Required Appropriate current certificate of competence from the College of Nurses of Ontario required. Registration or eligibility for registration with the Registered Practical Nurses Association of Ontario. Comprehensive knowledge of nursing and health care practices, as well as knowledge in infection control practices. Effective human relation skills and demonstrated commitment to working with seniors. Effective communication skills and ability to work independently and collaboratively are essential. A negative vulnerable sector check completed within six months of hire date.
