Post End Date: August 4, 2026 at 11:59 PMThis job advertisement is to fill an existing vacancy in the Administrative Professional (Employee Group) About the Role: The Wellness Navigation Coordinator focuseson providing support, resources, and guidance to students, promoting their overall well-being and fostering anenvironment that prioritizes mental health and wellness.
The Wellness Navigation Coordinator will act as a first point of contact for studentsand connectsthem withappropriateservicesand support resources.
They also co-designseducational and wellness-based activitiesfor studentsregardingmental health, stress management, self-care, and other wellness-related topicsto promote aculture of well-being and reducing stigma around seeking help.
The Wellness Navigation Coordinator will: Support students through the provision ofindividualwellness conversations; Assess the needs of the students and identifyappropriate servicesand timeliness needed to access those services based upon acuity ofstudentsneeds; Advisethe student ofappropriate resourcesand supports available on/off campus based upon thestudentsindividualized needs; Collaborate and work in partnership with the support resources and services at Brock University and within the broader community with the purpose of acting as a liaison andfacilitateaccess to care and resources; Providetransitional support to students who are referred to resources/supports on/off campus; Offer check-in and follow up connection with the student who access the wellness navigator service; Apply knowledge oflegislationaffecting health and wellness(,Human Rights, Health and Safety, Workplace Safety Insurance, Personal Health Information Protection Act, Psychological
Healthand Safety Standards, etc.).
Design and implement evidence based, high-quality and accessible workshops and events based upon student feedback that focus on campus, individual and community wellbeing; Design engaging, high quality and accessible social media posts to engage and promote activities related to the Wellness Navigator role; Manage budget allotted for programming and events.
Liaise and collaborate with othernavigators, faculty, leaders,managersand staff in the delivery of exceptional student navigational support; Participate in the evaluation of the program and services for tracking and measuring impact in the community(deliverables will be refined based upon feedback and evaluation of services).
Key Skills and Experience Undergraduate degree inrelated discipline such aspsychology, socialworkor social sciences.
College diploma related to supportive counselling such as aSocial Service
Worker,Community and Social Service Worker, or
Addictions and Mental Health.
Experience withdeveloping presentationsand events; Comprehensive understanding of the principles and application of wellness programs in a first responder environment; Strong understanding of the bio-psycho-social model of public health,disabilityand mental health; Ability to create well-designed,engagingand accessible social media posts and events; Ability to build strong,
collaborative partnerships with on campus and off campus support resources; Robust teamwork and collaboration skills; Confidence in de-escalation and conflict resolution; Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize workload in afast-pacedenvironment; Excellent interviewing and assessment skills todetermineneeds and prioritize access to care for individualized student situations; Preferred or Asset Skills: Livedexperience with mental healthdifficultiesas a student or know someone who has experienceddifficultieswith their mental health. ASISTCertification Mental Health First Aid Certification; and CPR Certification.
Salary and Total Rewards: Job Grade [J], Salary Scale ($57, - $91,; Target Hiring Range: $57,000 - $59,000.
