Job Description Avionics Certification Engineer DO-178C, DO-254, FPGA/ASIC & Embedded Systems Technical Skills DO-178B/C (Airborne Software Certification) DO-254 (Airborne Electronic Hardware Certification) DO-330 (Tool Qualification) Airborne Software & Hardware Certification FPGA / ASIC Design and Development Embedded Software Development Requirements Management Tools: DOORS JAMA Programming Languages: C C++ Ada Python Assembly Hardware Description Languages: VHDL Verilog Real-Time Systems Safety Analysis Verification & Validation (V&V;) Supplier Audit & Compliance Review Experience Requirements 15+ years of overall experience. 10+ years of experience in aeronautics. 5+ years of experience in FPGA/ASIC or embedded aerospace software.

Required Skills & Experience Certification & Safety-Critical Systems Strong knowledge of: DO-178B/C for airborne software certification DO-254 for airborne electronic hardware certification Experience with safety-critical systems engineering.

Knowledge of FAA and EASA certification regulations.

Experience with: Safety of flight assessments Risk analysis Technical documentation and compliance reporting Embedded Software & Hardware Development Experience in aerospace embedded software development.

Experience with FPGA / ASIC design and development.

Ability to evaluate embedded software and electronic hardware designs, including: FPGA ASIC PLD Knowledge of real-time systems and embedded system architectures.

Experience with hardware/software verification activities.

Requirements & Verification Engineering Experience using requirements management tools: DOORS JAMA Experience with: Requirements traceability Verification and validation activities Test analysis Compliance evidence review Design Reviews & Supplier Management Experience participating in: Preliminary Design Reviews (PDR) Critical Design Reviews (CDR) Experience reviewing supplier certification plans for airborne software and electronic hardware.

Experience conducting supplier assessments, audits,



and compliance reviews.

Ability to evaluate supplier adherence to development processes and regulatory requirements.

Positive to Have Skills Knowledge of: DO-330 Tool Qualification FAA Orders 8110.49A and 8110.105A EASA CM-SWCEH guidelines Exposure to: Real-Time Operating Systems (RTOS) Model-Based Development (MBD) Advanced Python scripting and automation experience.

Knowledge of cybersecurity in avionics systems.

Experience with civil aircraft certification programs.

Mentoring and technical leadership experience.

Experience with Agile or hybrid development methodologies.

Key Responsibilities Design Reviews & Certification Support Participate in Preliminary Design Reviews (PDR) and Critical Design Reviews (CDR) to ensure designs meet technical and certification requirements.

Review and assess supplier certification plans for airborne software and electronic hardware in compliance with: DO-178C DO-254 DO-330 Embedded Software & Hardware Assessment Evaluate embedded software and electronic hardware designs for: Correctness Robustness Traceability Review FPGA, ASIC, and PLD-based designs for compliance and certification readiness.

Verification, Validation & Compliance Analyze: V&V; results Test reports Certification evidence to determine compliance status.

Prepare and review design assurance documentation and compliance reports.

Ensure alignment with: FAA regulations EASA regulations Airworthiness authority guidelines Supplier Coordination & Technical Leadership Conduct technical and process audits at supplier facilities.

Lead resolution of: Technical issues Safety issues Compliance issues Coordinate with suppliers and internal stakeholders to ensure timely issue resolution.

Act as a key technical interface between engineering teams and suppliers.

Engineering Process Improvement Contribute to continuous improvement of engineering processes and the Software & Electronics (SWEL) domain roadmap.

Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and team members.
