Description: The Manager Accounting Policy and Advisory (i.e.

Specialized Finance Manager, Chief Accountant''s Department, Accounting Policy and Advisory), is responsible for the development, maintenance and interpretation of the Bank''s accounting policies in support of Segment Finance and Corporate Development.

Additionally, this role requires the incumbent to assist in the monitoring, tracking and implementation of new and emerging accounting standards.

Responsibilities include: Conducting technical accounting research, benchmarking and analysis, and preparing accounting memos and presentation materials Acting as a technical accounting subject matter expert, providing timely, accurate, and practical IFRS accounting guidance to stakeholders by understanding the accounting standards and the objectives of the business units Assisting in the preparation of the external consolidated shareholder reports (MD&A;, Financial Statements and Notes, Supplemental Financial Information package, etc.), including appropriate new accounting and reporting disclosures and enhancements to existing disclosures Keeping up to date with new accounting pronouncements under IFRS, presenting periodic technical updates and preparing accounting policy update materials Translating and communicating complex accounting topics to stakeholders, recognizing and anticipating potential opportunities and recommending changes as the business or regulatory environment changes Managing and developing effective working relationships with key business partners and stakeholder groups, both internally (Segment Finance, Corporate Development, Tax, Finance Operations, Investor Relations, Risk, etc.) and externally (auditors, advisors, and peer banks) Performing ad hoc tasks to support the team as required Job Requirements: Qualifications / Skills / Experience: Candidate must possess a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA, CA) designation, coupled with a minimum 5 years of relevant financial accounting experience Experience researching and resolving complex accounting issues under IFRS, including documenting conclusions in memos/position papers is an asset Experience with IFRS 9 Financial Instruments (including accounting for expected credit losses),



IFRS 3 Business Combinations (including accounting for merger and acquisition transactions) and/or IAS 28 Investments in Associates and Joint Ventures is an asset Although not required, US GAAP experience is an asset Previous experience of implementing new accounting standards is an asset Must be detail oriented and quick to comprehend complex business transactions and strategies with an ability to apply problem-solving skills and ensure the most appropriate accounting/reporting framework is applied Must demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate clearly with various stakeholders at various levels of seniority Proven analytical skills, sound judgment, attention to detail and high personal standards for accuracy Ability to manage deadlines, multiple tasks and adapt well to changing priorities Who We Are: TD is one of the world''s leading global financial institutions and is the fifth largest bank in North America by branches/stores.
