Employment Type: Full-Time Wylie Co. VFX is seeking an experienced Senior VFX Coordinator to join our production team. This role is ideal for a highly organized, proactive coordinator with strong production-management skills and experience supporting complex visual effects projects.
The Senior VFX Coordinator will work closely with producers, supervisors, artists, and clients to keep projects organized, schedules on track, and information moving clearly between departments. You will help manage the day-to-day operation of assigned shows while identifying potential scheduling, staffing, and delivery issues before they become problems. Responsibilities
Coordinate the daily production workflow for assigned VFX projects.
Maintain shot schedules, priorities, statuses, notes, and delivery information in ShotGrid.
Track work from initial turnover through final delivery.
Work closely with VFX Producers and Supervisors to establish priorities and communicate them to artists.
Schedule and support internal reviews, client reviews, dailies, and production meetings.
Prepare agendas, take clear notes, and follow up on action items.
Coordinate the receipt, organization, and distribution of client materials.
Track submissions, feedback, revisions, approvals, and final deliveries.
Monitor artist workloads, deadlines, and project dependencies.
Identify scheduling risks, missing information, and potential production bottlenecks.
Communicate professionally with clients and internal departments.
Help ensure file naming, project documentation, and production procedures are followed.
Support the onboarding of artists and the setup of new projects.
Assist producers with reports, schedules, staffing plans, and delivery forecasts.
Provide guidance and support to junior coordinators when needed. Qualifications
Previous experience as a VFX Coordinator or Senior VFX Coordinator in a professional visual effects studio.
Strong understanding of VFX production workflows, terminology, and review processes.
Advanced organizational, scheduling, and production-management skills.
Experience using ShotGrid or a similar production-tracking platform.
Ability to manage multiple priorities across fast-moving projects.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Solid attention to detail and consistent follow-through.
Ability to communicate effectively with artists, supervisors, producers, and clients.
Comfortable working independently and taking ownership of production tasks.
Calm, practical, and solutions-focused when working under deadline pressure.
Preferred
Experience
Experience coordinating episodic or feature-film visual effects projects.
Experience working directly with clients and external production teams.
Familiarity with VFX departments including compositing, CG, animation, FX, lighting, tracking, and matte painting.
Experience mentoring or overseeing junior production staff.
Experience supporting distributed or remote production teams.
