Post End Date: August 3, 2026 at 11:59 PMThis job advertisement is to fill an existing vacancy in the CUPE4207-1 (Employee Group) Discovering Ancient Rome CLAS 1P92 Compensation Teaching Assistant, Course Coordinator and Lab Demonstrator positions are paid according to the qualifications that the employee holds.
Employees who do NOT hold a 4-year honours degree or a 3-year pass degree will be paid the undergraduate rate - $ hour.
Employees who hold a 4-year honours degree or a 3-year pass degree will be paid the graduate rate - $ hour.
In cases whereadditionalduties are required as part of a Teaching Assistants duties, these hours shall be compensated at theappropriate Teaching
Assistant rate.
Duties The duties and responsibilities of the Teaching Assistant shall be in accordance with Article 22 of the CUPE Local 4207, Unit 1, Collective Agreement.
These are made up of scheduled contact time with students and non-classroom time (including preparation of seminar material, student consultation, marking or grading, examination proctoring, attending lectures, holding office hours, and other course administration as may be required.
Qualifications 1.
Honours BA in Classics or Classics Honours with 15 credits complete and a major average of 80%; 2.
Successful completion of CLAS 1P91 or 1P92 or equivalent; and 3.
Demonstratedorganizational and effective communication skills including the ability to explain subject material to students, be punctual in attending classes, and be able to meetappropriate deadlines.
