This is a technically demanding leadership role overseeing the mechanical and electrical infrastructure of mission-critical data centres.Key ResponsibilitiesOversee all aspects of the data centre's critical physical infrastructure, maintaining high availability and performanceManage on-site teams of 24x7 shift technicians, sub-contractors, and vendors ensuring work is performed per established procedures and safety protocolsDrive safety and security culture and compliance within the teamHire, coach, and promote team members; manage career development and performanceEffectively manage the operations budget and expendituresEngage in improvement projects from conception to completionAct as escalation point for all facilities-related issues including switchgear, generators, UPS systems, power distribution equipment, chillers, cooling towers, computer room air handlers,



and building monitoring systemsUtilize root cause analysis and troubleshooting/problem solving skillsRespond to out-of-hours emergency callsRole may support more than one location/siteMay assist in the build out of current facilities and projects to increase current facility efficiencyBasic Qualifications2+ years of people management and team development experience5+ years of engineering work managing large-scale services experienceExperience maintaining SLAs through proactive issue detection and reportingExperience operating a mission-critical team or productHigh school diploma or equivalentPreferred Qualifications3+ years in a management position with 5 or more direct reports5+ years of work in data centres with an emphasis on building and equipment operationBachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related fieldKnowledge of electrical and mechanical systems including feeders, transformers, generators, switchgear, UPS systems, ATS units, PDU units, chillers, pumps, air handling units, and CRAC unitsThis position requires the candidate to obtain and maintain an active Reliability Status security clearance with the Government of Canada.2+ years of people management experience; 5+ years of engineeringwork managing large-scale services; experience maintaining SLAs; experience operating a mission-critical team; high school diploma or equivalent.
