The Opportunity

Palos is seeking a bilingual (English/French), client-focused Wealth Advisor to lead client relationships and deliver a high-quality wealth management experience. This role focuses on servicing and expanding an existing book of business while actively developing new client relationships.

The successful candidate will guide clients through discovery, planning inputs, and the development of a comprehensive Investment Policy Statement (IPS).

The Wealth

Advisor will implement model portfolios within client Separately Managed Accounts (SMAs), managing ongoing rebalancing with client-specific tax and personal considerations, and ensuring each portfolio evolves appropriately over time. This role blends relationship management, SMA execution, advisory, and business development, and is suited to a professional who thrives in a client-facing, growth-oriented environment.

Key Responsibilities

Client Relationship Management

Serve as the primary relationship manager for an existing book of clients, ensuring a high level of ongoing service and engagement

Strengthen and grow existing relationships by identifying opportunities to deepen client engagement and expand assets under management.

Lead client discovery discussions, including Know-Your-Client (KYC), financial planning inputs, and goal setting

Develop and present customized Investment Policy Statements aligned with client objectives

Provide ongoing advice and relationship management, ensuring portfolios remain aligned with client goals over time





Act as the key liaison between clients and the Investment Team responsible for portfolio construction and implementation

Partner with Client Service Associates to deliver a high-quality, consistent client experience

Maintain accurate client records and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements

SMA Implementation and Rebalancing

Implement model portfolios within client SMA accounts in accordance with Investment Team guidelines and target allocations

Monitor SMA accounts for drift from target asset allocation and execute rebalancing when triggered by Investment Team thresholds

Apply client-specific overlays when executing rebalancing, including tax lot selection, capital gain and loss management, timing considerations, and client-specific exclusions

Coordinate with the Investment Team on model updates and ensure timely and accurate implementation across all client SMA accounts

Document all portfolio changes, rebalancing activity, and rationale in each client file in accordance with compliance requirements

Communicate portfolio changes and rebalancing rationale to clients in a explicit, timely, and client-appropriate manner

Identify tax loss harvesting opportunities specific to each client account and execute in coordination with client tax circumstances

Business Development

Build and maintain a pipeline of prospective clients through networking, referrals, and business development initiatives

Identify new asset opportunities and convert prospects into long-term client relationships

Contribute to overall asset growth through both retention and new client acquisition

Qualifications & Experience

5–10 years of experience in wealth management, private banking, or advisory roles

Portfolio Manager registration (or eligible)

Completion of the Chartered Investment Manager (CIM) or Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation (required)





Fully bilingual (English and French), with strong written and verbal communication skills in both languages (required); English proficiency is required due to regular communication with English-speaking clients, business partners and service providers across Canada and in the United States

Demonstrated success in managing and growing client relationships, including asset retention and expansion

Proven ability in business development, including asset gathering and client acquisition

Strong understanding of portfolio construction, asset allocation, and investment strategies across public and private markets

Experience preparing and presenting Investment Policy Statements and incorporating planning into client service

Experience managing discretionary SMA accounts including rebalancing and trade execution

Familiarity with custodial and portfolio management platforms, financial planning software and CRM tools is an asset.

Understanding of tax-efficient portfolio management including tax loss harvesting, lot selection, and capital gain management

Familiarity with exempt market products and alternative investments is an asset

Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to simplify complex concepts

Highly organized, with strong attention to detail and a disciplined approach to process
