We are seeking an experienced, competent, and dependable Wood Flooring Labourer to join our growing team in a fast-paced wood flooring and lumber production environment. We are looking for individuals with hands-on woodworking experience who take pride in producing high-quality and precise work. Applicants with hardwood flooring experience will be given priority.

Responsibilities

- Assist with woodworking and flooring production processes
- Support material preparation tasks
- Operate woodworking machinery and power tools safely and efficiently
- Measure, mark, and cut materials accurately using measuring tools
- Inspect products to ensure they meet quality and dimensional standards
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe production environment
- Follow all production procedures and safety protocols
- Safely lift and move materials weighing a minimum of 50 lbs
- Stand, bend, and work on your feet for extended periods

Required Qualifications

- Previous woodworking experience is required. Experience in hardwood flooring is strongly preferred, but experience in cabinetry, millwork, furniture manufacturing, finish carpentry, or lumber processing will also be considered.
- Comfortably, confidently and safely operate woodworking machinery (table saw, band saw, mitre saw, sander, etc.) and power tools
- Able to accurately read and use a tape measure (to 1/16" or finer)
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work
- Strong work ethic with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Reliable, punctual, and dependable
- Excellent problem-solving skills
- Positive attitude

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience setting up and operating industrial woodworking equipment such as moulders, planers, jointers, wide belt sanders, or similar machinery strongly preferred
- Ability to identify wood defects (knots, checks, splits, shake, etc.)




- Ability to use a caliper accurately to maintain consistent board thickness
- Ability to select boards for colour and grain consistency
- Ability to detect machining defects (snipes, chatter, etc.)
- Knowledge of hardwood species, moisture content, and wood movement
- Ability to grade lumber
- Ability to change blades or knives on woodworking equipment
- Mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot, adjust, and perform basic maintenance on woodworking machinery
- Forklift certification
