Join Durham Community Health Centre as a Youth Mental Health Therapist dedicated to providing counselling and support for young individuals facing mental health and substance use challenges. This part-time position focuses on delivering comprehensive care in both virtual and in-person settings. In this permanent part-time role, you'll work within the Youth Wellness Hub team, providing evidence-based therapy to youth aged 12-25.
Your expertise in trauma-informed, culturally responsive treatments will enable you to support young clients in managing their mental health and substance use issues. Collaborate with multi-disciplinary professionals while contributing to program development and quality enhancement. Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct biopsychosocial assessments for treatment planning
- Provide client-centered,
evidence-informed counselling
- Deliver therapeutic interventions using CBT and DBT
- Collaborate in care coordination with external agencies
- Develop youth substance use programming and initiatives Requirements:
- Master’s degree in Social Work or equivalent
- Minimum two years of counselling experience with youth
- Knowledge of evidence-informed interventions
- Robust communication and relationship-building skills
