Make a difference in the lives of youth at the Community YMCA in Halifax as a full time Youth Support Worker. Empower young individuals aged 12 to 25 through compassionate support and advocacy. In this permanent role, you'll work within the Anchor Youth Space team, enhancing youth well-being and guiding them towards their goals.
Collaborate with caregivers and community services, ensuring youth have access to essential mental health care and resources. Your expertise in a trauma-informed approach will play a vital role in transforming lives. Key Responsibilities:
- Provide mentorship and support to youth and caregivers
- Facilitate referrals to internal and external services
- Develop and revise individualized care plans
- Plan group programs to enhance social connections
- Ensure documentation is accurate and timely Requirements:
- Secondary education in social services required
- Two years of relevant experience needed
- Certifications in First Aid and CPR required or to be obtained
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills needed
