As a House Parent, you will play a crucial role in providing direct support to residents in the group home. Your responsibilities include maintaining safety, meal preparation, and facilitating life skills training. Prior experience in social work or youth care is beneficial to succeed in this fulfilling position.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise residents both in the facility and community
- Prepare balanced meals while managing kitchen inventory
- Plan and implement life skills training and group activities
- Document incidents and progress towards each resident's goals
- Enforce safety standards and facility rules
Requirements:
- Minimum one year experience in related field
- Post-secondary education in Social Science/Social Work
- Non-Violent Crisis Intervention Certificate (or willing to obtain)
- First Aid/CPR certification
- Understanding of behavior management principles
