Position Details
What You Will Do
- Handle MIG and non-MIG files up to the point of CAT
- Investigate, evaluate, negotiate, settle and administer all accident benefit claims through detailed and thorough investigation, needs analysis, entitlement to benefits, facilitation of coverage and delivery of superior customer service
- Guide and assist the insured through the claim process to achieve service excellence and successful file resolution
- Responsible for benefit payments (as per legislation)
- This role does not have an ADR component, but offers opportunity to be part of mediations, arbitrations and discoveries as learning opportunities
Salary range is not inclusive of total compensation. The expected salary range for this position will be impacted by factors such as the successful candidate’s skills, experience and working location, as well as the specific position’s business line, scope and level. Candidates with salary expectations outside of the range are encouraged to apply.
What You Have
- Minimum of 2-3 years accident benefit claims handling experience
- Knowledge of the legislation that governs these benefits (SABS)
- Well-honed negotiation skills
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
- Exceptional written and oral communication skills
- Strong organizational and time‑management skills with strong decision‑making skills
- Post‑secondary education in a related field, and/or working toward CIP designation preferred
