The hourly pay range for this position is C$25. per hour - C$32. per hour.Working HoursThe Working Hours for this Position are 8:00 am - 5:00 pm.Key PurposeThe Maintenance Technician is responsible for the operation, inspection, replacement, repair, and maintenance of building systems and general infrastructure to ensure optimal facility performance.This role executes on both corrective and preventative maintenance, including completing scheduled inspections, addressing deficiencies, and ensuring all systems operate safely and efficiently.The position requires responding to service requests and taking immediate action to resolve emergency situations or system breakdowns, while maintaining a safe, clean, and compliant work environment. This is a hands-on role involving mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and general building repairsResponsibilities also include overseeing contractors to ensure work is completed safely and in accordance with established standards, as well as communicating effectively with operation managerSuccess CriteriaAbility to troubleshoot and maintain HVAC, plumbing, and basic electrical systemsAbility to operate, monitor, and adjust Building Automation Systems (BAS)Strong problem-solving skillsTimely and high-quality completion of work orders and repairsAdherence to safety and compliance standardsEnsure assigned preventive maintenance tasks are completed on scheduleDeliver work safely, efficiently, and to a high-quality standardAbility to read and interpret technical drawings (mechanical, plumbing and electrical diagrams, floor plans)Strong customer service responsiveness and communicationWork independently and complete assigned task effectivelyMaintain strong attendance and performance standardsObserve vendor work and report to operation manager where necessaryKey Areas of Collaboration and InfluenceAbility to read, write, and communicate in English required (French for Qc Province)Communicates effectively with clients, team members, managers, coworkers and stakeholdersWorks collaboratively within a team workplace while also operating independentlyMaintains professional appearance and conductDemonstrates strong organizational skills and attention to detailExperience & Qualifications2–5 years of facility maintenance or trade-related experienceStrong handyman and general maintenance skillsetBasic mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skillsExperience working with building systems (HVAC, plumbing,
electrical)Experience maintaining clean, safe, work environmentsAt least one of the certifications listed below, or demonstrated progress toward obtaining one, is preferred.Technical Skills & KnowledgeAbility to read and interpret technical drawings and schematicsKnowledge of building systems including fire-life safety and auxiliary systemsAbility to use hand tools, equipment, and perform physically demanding tasks safelyFamiliarity with CMMS systems is an assetCertifications (An Asset)BES Level IODP (Ozone Depletion Prevention) CertificationFacilities Maintenance CertificateTrade certification (HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing, Carpentry)Key AccountabilitiesOperations & MaintenancePerform preventative and corrective maintenance on mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and life safety systemsComplete all required documentation for PM's and RM's inside CMMS system of recordPerform routine inspections, rounds, and readings on building systemsRepair system issues, including plumbing fixtures, lighting, doors, drywall, and minor HVAC componentsReplace components such as filters, bulbs and hardwarePerform other duties as assigned by management to support operational and business needsRepairs & General Building MaintenancePerform minor carpentry, painting, patching, and ceiling tile replacementRepair or replace door hardware, locks, and related fixturesPerform pipe work including brazing/soldering copper and threading black pipeSafely isolate and prepare systems for maintenance (lockout/tagout where applicable)Monitoring & DocumentationMaintain logs, inspection records, and maintenance documentation (CMMS, logbooks)Ensure all work is completed in accordance with safety standardsMaintain operation and maintenance manuals for equipmentCustomer Service & CommunicationRespond promptly to service requests and emergency situationsCommunicate status updates to customers and stakeholders in a timely mannerSupport customer satisfaction through quality service deliveryContractor & Vendor CoordinationOversee work performed by external contractorsEnsure contractor work meets safety and quality standardsSafety & ComplianceFollow HS&E; policies, procedures, and safe work practicesMaintain clean, organized workspaces and maintenance areasHandle hazardous materials safely and comply with storage/disposal requirementsSafely use hand tools, power tools and test instruments to maintain,
